Planning Your Wedding Ceremony Location
Whether you´re planning a backyard soirée, lavish nuptials or destination Wedding, the ceremony venue is an important part of your weddingd day. Before you decide where to have your Wedding, consider a number of venues and explore all options to pick the perfect location.
Remember, there are a number of venue options and as long as there´s an officiant, you can have your Wedding nearly anywhere. Take the time to think what is right for you.
Religious Weddings
Want a Wedding in your house of worship? A Wedding ceremony at a church, mosque, temple, chapel or other house of worship is traditional and will make you feel right at home if you´re religious. Many religious couples marry at their houses of worship, but for those who don’t belong to a particular religious Community, there are some chapels which will marry you regardless. Sometimes there are extra fees for non-members of a religious Community who want to marry at a specific house of worship, so keep that in mind. Some officiants request that couples make donations, as well. The cost of a church Wedding can be anywhere from a few hundred dollars to upwards of $1,000+.
Outdoor Weddings
Outdoor ceremonies are lovely, especially during the warmer months and they can be significantly cheaper depending on the venue. Some couples save thousands of dollars by having their Weddings in a friends or family member´s backyard.
Outdoor venues at country clubs, golf courses, parks, hotels and resorts can also make stunning locations. Some venues have gazebos, lakes or ponds for you to have your ceremony at there are typically great photo spots for pictures to be taken. Other venues are willing to set up a stunning ceremony location for you. Most of these venues have separate reception spaces indoors. Keep in mind that there can be additional cost involved, so it is important to find out the price of everything before you sign any contracts and book the space.
Additionally, ask staff about where the wedding could be held in the event of rain and find out what a tent would cost. Tents tend to be expensive, so the most cost-efficient option would be to have an indoor space for you to have the Wedding in case of rain.
Indoor Weddings
Resort and hotel weddings are popular these days and many couples opt to have both their ceremonies and receptions at one location to avoid needing additional transportation. Hotel staff often set up a cocktail party immediately after the ceremony so there is time to set up for the reception. Talk to the staff about what you’re looking for in terms of décor and make sure to find out if the staff can convert the ceremony space, how long it will take and cost, or if you can have the reception in another room.
Unique Weddings
Many couples are venturing out and searching for unique ceremony and reception locations that will wow their guests. Zoos, museums, aquariums, mansions, libraries, barns and historical sites have become popular among couples looking for unique places to say, “I do”. Look for some of the most notable in your city to make your ceremony extra memorable.
Destination Weddings
Destination weddings are known for their gorgeous ceremony venues. Pristine White sand beaches, picturesque churches, mountaintops and tropical gardens, that make great ceremony locations. Talk to your specialist or planner to find out venues in your resorts area. Many resorts also have outdoor an indoor spaces right on site that are perfect for photos and your ceremony.
