Getting engagement photos taken is an essential part of the wedding Planning process.

While you may have albums full of photos of you and your significant others on trips, at sporting events and during holidays, engagement photos are professionally done and can be used on engagement announcements, save-the-date cards, wedding programs and even at the wedding itself.

And while they’re great to use at wedding events, they’re also memories you can keep forever. How could you not want framed photos to remember such a special time in your lives?

There are plenty of engagement photo options and packages for every couple’s style and budget. Nowadays, photographers like couples to get creative with their photos –where they shoot and the types of photos they take.

Some couples opt to take their photos sitting in front of a backdrop of lush landscape, while others prefer having a background of city buildings or old world architecture.

Getting professional photos taken gives you a chance to show off your style as a couple. If you’re a couple who loves to laugh, show that in your photos. If you’re a romantic couple, try to have the photographer get shots of you kissing, holding hands or gazing into each other’s eyes.

Whether you’re looking for simple shots or extravagant portraits, talking to the photographer is key. Plan out where you’d like the photos taken, the types of poses you’re interested in and what you’re going to wear.

Remember –these photos are an investment. Packages can be expensive, but if you love the photos and plan to display them in your home and at your wedding, the cost is worth it.
