The couple must submit a formal application for marriage and declaration of personal data, along with a notarized affidavit with proof of no prior marriage. Those not marrying for the first time must provide proof of divorce. Widows or widowers must present the death certificate of the deceased spouse. Photo IDs must be presented and a notarized copy of each document left behind in the country. The entire process takes 2 to 3 working days. Expect to receive a legal marriage certificate back home in 6-8 weeks.

Birth certificate.

From a certificate of no-impediment the registry, country/state where you reside.

Affidavit of single status (office will provide form)

Divorce decree

Death certificate (if widow or widower) and, copy of marriage certificate verifying the marriage between the deceased spouse and declarant.

Copy of legal status (work permit or immigration status)

Two (2) declaration forms

Application form for special license. (application form can be obtained from the registrar general’s office or from any marriage officer)

Copy of TCI immigration arrival and departure stamp

Visitors or tourist must be in the Turks and Caicos 48hours before submitting application.

Persons under the age of 21 years must have consent from parents or guardians.

If you hold a valid visa to the United States of American, the United Kingdom or Canada you will not require a separate visa to visit the Turks and Caicos Islands. If you are a citizen or another country, please review if you will require a visa.


All visitors traveling to the Turks & Caicos Islands must have a valid passport. Visas are necessary from some countries of the former Eastern Bloc. They are advised to contact the nearest British Consulate Office.


All visitors must hold a round trip ticket. Upon arrival, each person will need to complete an immigration form. In addition, the head of each family will also be required to complete a customs form (C105). In the case of friends travelling together, with different surnames, each will need to complete their own customs declaration form. Visitors are allowed to stay for 90 days; this is renewable one time only.

The average temperature ranges between 85 and 90 °F (29-32 °C) from June to October, sometimes reaching the mid 90 °F (35 °C), especially in the late summer months. A constant trade wind keeps the climate at a very comfortable level.

The Turks and Caicos consist of 40 different islands and cays, only 8 are inhabited. The islands are almost as diverse as its people. From the main tourist center of Providenciales to the quiet islands of North and Middle Caicos to the Capital Grand Turk; each one offers a different experience and a unique character but all offer year round great climate, beaches and underwater activities.

Most of the islands in Turks and Caicos are only about 10 to 25 minutes by air and can be reached by boat, too. There are also regular ferries. Providenciales is the most well-known and the center of the tourism industry. Middle Caicos and North Caicos represent the best of the environment, with lush green woodlands. South Caicos is the center for fishing, with lobster and conch exported from the islands, the historic Cockburn harbor and the natural phenomenon of the boiling hole. This small yet friendly island offers many secluded beaches with awe inspiring views of the turquoise waters and surrounding islands.

All scheduled international flights into the Turks and Caicos land at the Providenciales International Airport (IATA: PLS). On Turks the JAGS McCartney International Airport (IATA: GDT) or Grand Turk Airport gives domestic service.

You can shop at boutiques and visit museums and show rooms. There are also a few shops, food stores, liquor shops, banks and pharmacies. Throughout all the islands there are a variety of local stores that have a collection of varying unique jewelry and hand-made gifts. Over the years Turks and Caicos has increased the selection of locally-manufactured items, and art as paintings, prints, sculptures and crafts. These items include woven baskets, old-fashioned dolls, model sailboats and hats. Conch shells for sale after being turned into vases, dishes and artwork. Other souvenirs include sunglasses, T-shirts, handcrafted silver jewellery with, sea glass and pearl settings. As for food, you would find gourmet coffee, local Beer and Rum (two alcohols bottled on Providenciales), hot sauce (made from local peppers), south caicos sea salt, and Skincare products.

Some of the best bars in the Turks and Caicos are located in hotels, but it is worthy to go out and explore the scene, especially if you want to meet some of the locals. You will find delicious bar food and home-cooked food around. Providenciales is the place for good party, day, or night. From Live Music with Dinner, through to Karaoke, Caribbean-Style Jams, Maskanoo, Live DJs, you will find plenty to do. You can take in some local music with performers playing traditional Island Rake n’ Scrape, Steel Drums, Jazz and even the occasional rock and pop group.

There are more than 81 restaurants on the islands, manly on Providenciales as the culinary center. Turks and Caicos Islands feature fine and imaginative cuisine and world class chefs, with local dishes to international favorites. Several of the fine dining restaurants are led by award-winning international chefs, who combine unique dining backgrounds from around the world with Turks and Caicos tastes. Most restaurants are located in Cockburn Town near the oceanfront regions of Front Street, Duke Street and Queen Street. Grand Turk hosts a diversity of local flavors of a Caribbean destination, many dishes incorporate seafood. Conch is the primary catch, and is commonly prepared either as fried conch fritters or as a salad. Restaurants do serve “freshly-caught” fish, Another popular dish is "peas & hominy", consisting of ground island maize and locally-grown beans or pigeon peas. Conch fritters and conch salad are recent culinary additions. Fresh local lobster is another option.

You can scuba dive, snorkel, sail, boat, parasail, fish, go on tours, Kite Boarding, Wind Surfing. Each island has its own activities as well. Turks and Caicos possess one of the most extensive reef systems on earth, with an infinite number of underwater sights, as a myriad of colorful sponges and corals, turtles and majestic eagle rays. Large animals like whales and sharks can be found at various dive sites. Moorings are provided so boats do not have to anchor. For expert divers, Turks & Caicos is a mecca for their walls: the islands lie right on the edge of two undersea mountaintop plateaus with steep walls throughout. Closer to shore you can swim along the edge of an awe-inspiring abyss, staring into the dark where the ocean floor drops off rapidly to as deep as 7000 feet. Step out the door for some of the best sports fishing on earth.


The Turks and Caicos Islands is a British Overseas Territory, located in the Atlantic Ocean and considered a part of the Caribbean region.
